"Riley and her mum Michelle were my passengers for this flight. My co-pilot was Ray Ben and we were accompanied by Independent News reporter Fran Henke. Fran was writing a story on the work done by Angel Flight pilots out of Tyabb, and Ray wanted to see first hand what is involved in flying for Angel Flight.

Riley and Michelle were dropped off at Essendon by Earth Angel Heather, and although we were late getting away due to a blanket of fog in Melbourne, the flight itself was as it should be - smooth and uneventful.

Riley had a great time sitting in the back listening in on my conversations with air traffic and enjoying the view. Thanks to a never ending stream of traffic delayed by the earlier fog coming into Melbourne, we were radar vectored over the city before heading NW direct to Warracknabeal.

Flying conditions were very good, and although we had a little bit of a headwind, we landed in Warracknabeal just over an hour after takeoff from Essendon. Riley's dad was waiting for her at the airport, and after the obligatory photo session, this brave little girl was on her way home to Beulah."
