MISSION 2039 - DENMARK / JANDAKOT / DENMARK

SUBSEQUENT TRIP REQUEST: 9th and 10th flights.

Sixty-five year old man Donald from Denmark has just been diagnosed with cancer and requires a bone marrow transplant in Perth.

This Angel Flight was to take Donald to Perth, as he is currently unable to drive himself due to a fractured right arm caused by his cancer. The Angel Flight also alleviated him of an 8 hour bus trip which would have been very tiring and uncomfortable for him. As he is a pensioner, this Angel Flight also helped him out financially.

Comment by Ron

"The trip to Denmark was 'a little doubtful' due to forecast low cloud and rain showers along the South Coast of WA. Don had been advised of this prior, so a Plan 'B' had been organised. However, the trip was flown OK, via the 'scenic route' - a few diversions here and there around the showers etc to maintain VFR - so the trip took just on 2 hours, instead of the direct planned flight time of around 90 minutes or so. Don enjoyed the en route coffee, and Denmark was bathed in sunlight for our arrival. A safe trip and pleasureable time was had by all."
