| MISSION 2018 - QUILPIE / TOOWOOMBA / QUILPIE | |
|
SUBSEQUENT TRIP REQUEST: 5th and 6th flights. Sixty-one year old Rasid from Quilpie needed to be at the Toowoomba Base Hospital for chemotherapy. The distance involved makes transport by car very tiring, so Angel Flight eased the burden for him. |

Angel flight 1 by Stephen White
Comment by Stephen "Strong headwinds meant the trip from Redcliffe to Quilpie took more than five hours, but the upside was that the trip from Quilpie to Toowoomba took less than three hours. Sixteen knot south-westerly winds gusting to 27 knots greeted us at Toowoomba making the approach fairly bumpy but the touch down was good. Bob appreciated the flight and our efforts to make the trip as comfortable as possible." |

Angel flight 2 by John Littlewood
Comment by John "Departed on time with Bob for Roma-Quilpie Had a 20 knt tailwind so decided to push on to Quilpie & refuel there, NO AVGAS at Quilpie, ERSA wrong ! Eventually got enough for Charleville.Enough light to get to Roma where we stayed with friends, Back to Goondiwindi next day. Bob was an excellent passenger & my copilot Sandy Hardcastle was great company. At Quilpie we were lucky to befriend Peter Penshorn who helped us no end with fuel & transport Thanks Peter. Earth Angel Jayne McMicking was her cheerful self as usual, and spot on time Thanks for the flight. John Littlewood." |
