MISSION 799 - PARAFIELD / MILLICENT

INITIAL TRIP REQUEST: Colleen and her nine month old son Alex from Millicent SA were at the Womens and childrens Hospital Adelaide so Alex could receive treatment for his Cystic Fibrosis. They have been there for some time and will continue to need ongoing treatment. The Womens and Childrens Hospital provided the means for the family to be reunited for a short while. Alex's father Michael and his older sister Hannah now need to return home to Millicent to continue with their lives.

With the ongoing separation, finances were constrained, but Angel Flight helped Michael and his two year old daughter Hannah return home.

"All went well. We arrived at Millicent at 9:35am. We were delayed for a little while due to the key not being with the plane.

This photo is from the view out the window of the cockpit. It shows the shadow of our plane down below on a cloud, with a circular rainbow around the shadow. Its not very clear but it sends a nice message about the things Angel Flight does.

A view out of the cockpit looking at the shadow of the plane down below on a cloud beneath the plane. The shadow is surrounded by a circular rainbow.

My first Angel Flight today and one that will always stay with me. I guess that great feeling of knowing your helping a family with its struggle to support a sick child is truly overwhelming. Michael and Hannah seemed relaxed even when we were boxed in under cloud at three thousand ft over the mt lofty ranges.

Hannah enjoyed the view from the child seat and the lollies so much that she fell asleep within 20 minutes of the 100 minute flight."
