"Departed Moorabbin before tower opened, got a good clearance Mildura direct 8000 ft. The only problem - 42 knot head winds which gave us a ground speed 136 kts. Not good for a Barron . Experienced dust and front on arrival Mildura .Quickly loaded Peter & Karyn, and then back to 7000ft.

Since it was very rough, I asked for 9000ft, and air traffic control readily obliged. It was a lot better speed on way home. 213 kts and a lot of turbulance into Essendon. Dropped off the passengers, and went back to Moorabbin as quick as we could. A good day, hope things work out okay for Peter."

"The trip was really uneventfull. Peter's wife Karen was a bit concerned about flying. She suffers from motion sickness, however, we managed to cruise at a level with very little turbulence. We were assisted greatly by air traffic control during our departure. They allocated us a track which avoided most of the low level turbulence in Melbourne. I was very pleasantly surprised when I ordered a sandwich at the cafe at Mildura airport. The lady there told me they provide food free of charge for Angel Flight pilots. Great service! Please pass on my thanks if you talk to them."
