MISSION 82 - COONAMBLE / BANKSTOWN / COONAMBLE

At just 11 Teigan, with what is believed to be Crohn’s Disease, has already had 6cm of her bowel removed. She and her mum, Sandy, usually travel to the Sydney Children’s Hospital by car having completed four trips in just five months for treatment and another four trips prior to that to see a gastroenterologist for the diagnosis. The young girl also experiences car sickness so this angel flight is a welcome relief for Teigan and the Forgione family.

"Met Justin at Bankstown at 0530. Departed BK at 0610 arrived Coonamble 0750 - a few clouds but a smooth flight. Lisa Smith was there with coffee and scones.

Refuelled - Boarded Sandy and Teigan and took off at 0850. Landed Bankstown at 1025 - another smooth flight with less cloud than on the way up. Dropped Sandy and Teigan at SCH at 1110 with 5 minutes to spare."

"SUMMARY OF FLIGHT- Flight down was smooth and straight forward. We arrived at BK on time refueled with BP then loaded Sandy and Tegian, did a preflight briefing and safety briefing.

Climbed out on ATC headings held at 3000 for a few minutes then cleared to FL125. Moderate turb to 6000 then smooth. Amended to 10 000 for cruise, descent proved smooth and long descent to help with Teigan's ears.

Arrived in circuit at a Duchess angle flight was joining circuit. Extended circuit over Sandy's house to allow Duchess to clear. Smooth landing and happy customers!

Headwind going home kept Gs down to 230kts. Great flight and lovely day of aviation. Thanks to my co pilot Dave Matthews-Fredricks."
