MISSION 67 - COONAMBLE / ORANGE / COONAMBLE

Maureen has had two mitral valve replacements (heart surgery) and has been well up until receiving a cancer diagnosis in November 03. She has had a right mastectomy and is currently receiving chemotherapy in Orange. This usually means travel the day before treatment and travel the day after. The side effects of the treatment begin on the return journey, which include nausea and vomiting. Orange Hospital does not have accommodation on site so Maureen has had the added expense of two nights accommodation. This is Maureen's third Angel Flight.

Andrew Bullard - Pilot

Angel Flight report by Andrew Bullard

"A very sweet lady indeed. We are quite humbled by her most positive and alive attitude under such adversity. She must be so very well loved in her Coonamble community that she has served as a nurse for a long time. It really warms one to the core to see that same community supporting her, in now, her time of need. These and those rewards are simply priceless." – Andrew

Roy Abel - Earth Angel

Earth Angel report by Roy Abel

"The plane was met at Orange Airport 12.15 pm, a five minute delay due to heavy clouds. Maureen was taken to the Village Coffee Shop for lunch (thanks to Anglicare), then onto Anson Cottage for treatment. Andrew waited for fuel and was taken to town by Ian Bell. Maureen was returned to the airport for a 5.00pm departure, again into cloudy skies.

Thank you for the priviledge to help."
