MISSION 210 - JANDAKOT / GERALDTON

In memory of Zoe Alexander - Angel at peace (Geraldton Guardian 03/12/04)

"Thank you for your assistance with this family. I was fortunate to attend Zoe's funeral in Geraldton, and was very humbled by the great support offered by friend and the wider community to this lovely family. The family had a song made by some school friends which was played which was lovely, and released butterflies. I will continue to be in contact with this family and will pass on your condolences."

Fighting Acute Myeloid Leukaemia Zoe required palliative care. Unable to physically and emotionally withstand the rigours of a road or rail journey, Angel Flight was asked to fly Zoe, Elise her sister and Debra her mother home so the family can be together at this time.

This story appearing in The Geraldton Guardian 03/11/04.

Peter Stacey - Pilot

Angel flight by Peter Stacey
First Angel flight for Peter.

"The Alexanders are a wonderful caring family and have been dealt a real hard blow. The two daughters are very polite and great young ladies. Zoe handled the busy day very well considering.

We departed Jandakot a little after 2:00 o'clock. The weather was broken cloud most of the way. IFR was the best option. A Fremantle instrument departure of Jandakot gave the girls a great view of the City before going into cloud. Our altitude on the way was 8000, a few thousand feet above the cloud to get the smoothest ride for Zoe.

On arrival at Geraldton, the Guardian reporter and a relation were waiting.

I would just like to thank the Angel Flight team for all the time and effort in supplying the information and providing the assistance for my first Angel flight. I can assure you that the experience is profound and I feel very privileged to be involved.

As I stated, the Alexanders are very special people.

Once again thanks."
